We received a lot of messages that inquired about the total price of the basket and tamper. They are all 25 Euros. The deposit of 25 euros is for the step-down basket + tamper.

This is a precision CNC-machined basket, not a stamped one. It comes with a 49mm tamper included, so there’s no need to purchase one separately.

Why choose a stepdown basket?

A step-down espresso basket is designed to fit a standard 58mm portafilter but narrows down to a smaller 49mm chamber where the coffee puck sits. This taller, more compact shape helps water flow more evenly through the grounds, reducing channeling and leading to sweeter, more balanced shots. Due to its geometry, it often works well with slightly coarser grinds, which can enhance clarity and mouthfeel. In essence, it brings the forgiving extraction style of 49mm baskets to 58mm machines, making lower doses and precision brewing easier and more reliable.

314 Stainless Steel 49.5mm Puck Screen(1.7mm) and Spring are optional. When your dose is about 10–25% below the basket’s full capacity, extra headspace can become an issue. Placing the spring on top of the puck screen helps eliminate that gap while also working as a  shower screen to create back pressure.

The added back pressure makes it possible to grind a bit coarser, extend shot times, and achieve higher brewing pressures.
